Terms of Business

This document sets out the terms and conditions for the services that I provide, and the costs involved.

Working with children and young people who have problems with dyslexia calls for a structured year-round programme that is tailored to the needs of each individual.

What I offer

  • Bespoke learning for your child or young person.
  • Working with parents and schools to understand the needs of the learner.
  • Literacy skills – reading/writing/spelling/comprehension
  • Task management – how to break tasks down into manageable steps
  • Help to develop an understanding of dyslexia
  • Confidence building
  • Advice and information for schools
  • Revision techniques
  • Organisational skills
  • Weekly feedback

What this looks like

  • A weekly session in school for the learner
  • Attendance at meetings when applicable
  • Games, tasks and activities are planned individually for the learner, to help them move forward with their learning. This also enables them to access education independently and with confidence.

A year-round service

Because my services are structured to provide a holistic programme of help, the fees cover the entirety of the services provided, and not just the four one-to-one sessions each month. The charges for missed appointments are set out below.

Charges

I do not provide, or charge for, services during the month of August. There is a charge of £120 per month for the remaining eleven months of the year.

Payment is due within seven days of receipt of the invoice.

Cost breakdown

Across a year, I will provide 11 sets of a minimum of four sessions a month. This allows for four free weeks over Easter and Christmas.

Half-terms are charged for, as is child sickness. If the mentor is unwell, or unable to attend a session, invoices are adjusted accordingly.

There is no fee for my travel (except in exceptional circumstances). There are also no charges for planning or the resources and feedback that I provide. I will also attend meetings if required, subject to diary commitments.

I offer sessions during holiday time – apart from August. These are held in my home and are arranged by mutual agreement.
